Try Again: Clinton’s Disingenuous Peace Offering of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s Resignation Won’t Win Bernie Supporters’ Votes

The damage is done.

Social media and Schultz’s reputation were set ablaze months ago. #DumpDebbie, #ByeDebbie, and #DebbieDowner have been trending on twitter for some time now.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has become one of the most hated (and corrupt) politicians in the Democratic Party. She’s also the current chairperson of the Democratic National Committee. Did I mention she was also a Hillary Clinton campaign manager in 2008?

Yes. You read that correctly.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz was in charge of running Hillary’s campaign in 2008 and now she is in charge of making decisions that affect the Democratic presidential candidates and Hillary Clinton is one of them. But how can she remain impartial (?) one might ask.

She can’t and she hasn’t been impartial. Shocker.

In an attempt to give Clinton as little media attention as possible, Schultz set the debate schedule to prevent Bernie’s message from being broadcast and to draw as little attention to Clinton, the DNC’s darling, whose rap sheet is numerous. Bernie’s message resonates with the populous, so, the smaller his audience – the better for the Clinton camp. She’s been involved in so many scandals that it’s been her strategy to avoid debates for fear of reminding her constituency about her scandals and weak policies.

During the Nevada delegate convention, Sanders’ delegates and supporters were clearly disenfranchised and Schultz pushed Sanders’ supporters further away by lying about it. Schultz paired up with Barbara Boxer and Roberta Lange to appear on Mainstream news to lie about Sanders’ supporters purportedly displaying violence at the convention by throwing chairs. This has since been debunked. Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks did a great job reporting on the Nevada convention. Watch it here.

Shultz isn’t alone in stacking the deck against Sanders but she has utilized her power to make it nearly impossible for him to get a fair shake. But there aren’t calls to replace every biased establishment politician. Only Schultz has been called to resign. If Mainstream news did its job, there would be a much longer list of people it needs to call to resign.

A month ago, I wrote about why the #BernieOrBust movement was here to stay. Read about it here.

Mainstream media finally accepted that at least 25% of Sanders’ supporters refuse to vote for Hillary and for the past few weeks Mainstream media’s narrative has centred on shaming Sanders’ supporters into backing Clinton in an effort to “unite the party.” Unfortunately, Sanders’ supporters come from a generation that knows how to utilize Google. They discovered PUMA, the group of Clinton supporters that refused to vote for Obama in 2008 when it was discovered that Clinton wouldn’t secure the nomination. PUMA stands for Party Unity My Ass.

Well, that went horribly awry.

I guess, it’s time for plan B. Now, Mainstream media is calling for Schultz to step-down.

Thanks, Mainstream media. It would have been nice to call for Schultz’s resignation months ago. You know, before the damage was done. Schultz should have recused herself because no one could be impartial given her situation. She refused to give up her gig and Bernie votes were lost because of it. The damage has been done. “Bernie or Bust” supporters will never vote for Hillary.

It’s simply too little, too late.

One last grand gesture on Hillary’s behalf won’t save her from Trump in the general election. Before the DNC decided it was proper to lie, cheat, and steal the primary to give the nomination to Clinton, it should have considered the backlash. Now the July convention is shaping up to look like it did in 1968. Have they not yet realized that this is the election for the “outsiders?” The voters are tired of the establishment and understand that merely getting rid of one Clinton minion won’t fix the broken system.

Democrats are turning to Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt and others to lead a task force to address problems in recent midterm elections. The Democratic National Committee on Thursday named a 10-person panel to examine the party's struggles during the 2014 and 2010 elections and recommend solutions. It aims to figure out why Democrats have struggled to turn out core voters in nonpresidential races and will examine its tactics, messaging and get-out-the-vote operations. It doesn’t matter if the platter Hillary uses to offer up Schultz’s head as a peace offering to Sanders’ supporters is encrusted with diamonds; his supporters realize that Schultz is a pawn in Hillary’s path to coronation and the corruption will remain after Schultz’s demise. It’s your move, Hillary.
